"In life, it's not just about finding the right answers, but also asking the right questions and working together to develop solutions." – Albert Einstein
We are convinced that working in partnership with foundations, educational institutions, NGOs and universities is invaluable for our school and our students. Such collaborations open up a wide range of learning and development opportunities and promote the exchange of knowledge and resources.
By working closely with our partners, we are able to implement innovative projects, build cultural bridges and create a strong network for our students. This creates an enriching learning environment and contributes significantly to the personal and academic development of our students. Together, we are able to overcome challenges and create optimal educational opportunities.

Teacher training plays a special role at the University. It pools its research areas into three main themes “Light, Life, Liberty” representing the proven strengths of Jena University. “Light” integrates material and energy research combining these with cutting-edge research in optics and photonics. “Life” connects microbiology and biodiversity, as well as research into ageing and sepsis. “Liberty” combines research on enlightenment and romanticism with contemporary research in the social sciences, history, and Eastern Europe. Jena, with its medieval charm and modern vibrancy, offers a dynamic environment for students, blending culture, high-tech industries, and outdoor recreation in a stunning landscape.
The German International School Accra (DISA) was founded in 1966 and is the only recognized German school abroad in West Africa. It offers all-day care for children from the age of one through to secondary school. The educational work is based on the Thuringian education plan and the standards of the British Cambridge curriculum are also taken into account. Over 100 children from more than 20 nations are cared for and taught by qualified teachers. DISA offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, early childcare and a hot lunch. During the vacations, so-called “camps” are organized to look after the children. The school plans to offer the first intermediate school-leaving certificates in cooperation with the DBSAA by 2028 at the latest. In the future, the school is also aiming to offer an upper secondary school with the International Baccalaureate (IB). The campus has modern facilities and specialist rooms for art, music, science and more. The school pursues the vision of “building bridges” between Ghana, Germany and the world and attaches great importance to individual support, small learning groups and the inclusion of extracurricular learning locations. The DISA is managed by a parents' council and is supervised by the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs and the Central Agency for Schools Abroad. It receives financial and personnel support from the Federal Republic of Germany. The DISA is aware of its social responsibility, awards scholarships, supports local NGOs and is committed to sustainability.
We provide an environment where our children develop into empathetic, self-directed, critical thinkers who don’t give up when faced with challenges.
