'DBSAA Warriors' zeigen starke Leistung beim ICS-Diplo-Tournament in Addis Abeba

The ‘DBSAA Warriors’ competed with great enthusiasm and impressive team spirit at the prestigious ICS Diplo Tournament at the International Community School (ICS) campus in Addis Ababa. The team is characterized by their special composition: They consist of a committed mix of students, staff and parents of the DBSAA. This cross-generational unit showed a strong presence on the pitch right from the start. The tournament brought together teams from numerous international institutions. This year, the ‘DBSAA Warriors’ faced teams from the European Union (EU), the African Union (AU) and various embassies from Addis Ababa, among others. In exciting preliminary round matches, the team held their own against technically skilled and experienced opponents and delivered passionate matches throughout. Although the team narrowly missed out on a place in the quarter-finals, the ‘DBSAA Warriors’ left a lasting impression with their performance. The ‘DBSAA Warriors’ can look back on their performance with pride and we look forward to the next chapter of their sporting journey.

DBSAA Abschlussfeier 24/25

In a festive atmosphere, the German Embassy School Addis Ababa bid farewell to this year’s graduates of grades 10 and 12, as well as a student of grade 9, on the afternoon of May 30. The event not only marked the imminent end of a school year, but also a significant step in the students’ lives.The ceremony was opened by a warm welcome from Deputy Head of School Ms. Köster and Head of School Mr. Hasse, followed by short speeches from some of the teachers who paid tribute to the special achievements, commitment and growth of the young people. Former Head of School Dr. Nutz also addressed moving words to the graduates in a video message. The deputy German ambassador, Mr. von Weyhe, not only gave a touching speech, but also presented the students with their certificates. In addition to the official parts, musical contributions and personal words from students and parents provided emotional and unforgettable moments. After the official program, the guests were able to end the afternoon together with snacks and a drinks reception, take photos and make plans for the future. We would like to take this opportunity to wish the graduates of Year 12 all the best, lots of courage and confidence for their future endeavors. The graduates of Year 9 & 10 will be staying at our school for a while longer so that we can bid them farewell in a few years’ time with great IB diplomas.

Kreativ, sportlich, lecker – Projektwoche im Kindergarten der Deutschen Botschaftsschule Addis Abeba

A week full of colors, movement, music, scents and delicacies: The project week in the kindergarten of the German Embassy School Addis Ababa was a lively experience for all the senses. The children had the opportunity to try out various creative, sporting and culinary activities and test their senses. They baked, danced, painted and much more. The children were able to experience the different areas in mixed groups.The project week was a feast for the senses and was great fun for everyone involved. The children were able to deepen their interests, discover their own abilities and, above all, try out new things together.

Sportfest der Grundschule

This year’s sports festival at our primary school took place on 16.05.25. All participants were highly motivated and once again delivered top performances. The children from Year 1 to Year 4 competed against each other in the 100m run, long throw and long jump. The children mastered the disciplines with great ambition and motivation. At the end of the day, however, the main focus was on having fun, which was not lacking in any way at this event.

Großelterntag im Kindergarten der Deutschen Botschaftsschule Addis Abeba

On 16.05.25, a very special morning took place at the kindergarten of the German Embassy School Addis Ababa: Grandparents’ Day. The guests were welcomed with great joy by the children and the kindergarten team. The excitement was palpable as soon as they arrived – for many children it was something very special to welcome their grandparents into their kindergarten world. The focus of the morning was on the exchange between the generations. The grandparents told the children stories from their own childhood and gave exciting insights into another time. The grandparents also had the opportunity to get to know their grandchildren’s everyday kindergarten life. The Grandparents’ Day was a valuable opportunity to build bridges between the generations, share memories and create new ones together. The kindergarten team would like to thank all grandparents for their visit and is already looking forward to a repeat next year.
