As part of the fifth edition of a long-standing inter-school sustainability project, students from the DBSAA and Lycée Guebre-Mariam took part in a special day dedicated to environmental awareness and the French language. Working in mixed groups, the students created calligrams on tote bags to illustrate environmentally friendly actions such as recycling, saving water, and protecting nature. In the presence of the leadership teams of both schools, the winners of a Padlet competition were recognised, followed by a shared snack and a friendly picnic. As an ongoing initiative, the project encourages students to practise French in a creative way while strengthening their awareness of environmental issues. On 7 May 2026, the German Embassy School Addis Ababa had the honor of participating in Europe Day 2026 at the Sheraton Addis. A special highlight of the event was the performance of our school choir under the direction of our teacher Pascal Koverbasic. The musical presentation was highly praised by both the guests and the organizers and was a great success. It was especially wonderful that many parents from our school community were also able to attend the event, allowing our school to present itself in the best possible way. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the successful organization and execution of this event, as well as the organizers for their kind invitation and the excellent event.
Last Saturday, our school grounds turned into a vibrant hub of sports, connection, and community spirit. The sports tournament, organized by the SMV, brought together staff members, students, and the board, who competed against each other in various groups with great enthusiasm and teamwork. In addition to the exciting matches, the event was enriched by a variety of food and sales stands. The bazaar offered a wide range of delicious treats and creative items, inviting everyone to explore and enjoy. The tournament was a great success and once again highlighted the strong sense of community at our school. A big thank you to the SMV for the organization and to everyone who contributed to making this day so special!
